The Home Office has announced the deployment of vans equipped with facial recognition cameras across Britain to locate criminals. Ten vehicles with live facial recognition technology will be provided to police forces to identify individuals wanted for serious crimes. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper stated the technology will target sex offenders and other serious criminals. Areas to deploy the vans include Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire, Sussex, and Thames Valley.
