No compensation for cancelled flights home. 

A power failure and voltage surge at Manchester Airport caused more than 50 flight cancellations, including a flight from Greece to Manchester. The affected passengers managed to catch an alternative flight to London Gatwick and then catch a train to Manchester. All very inconvenieny the airline is obliged to reimburse the cost of the train ticket and a meal, but no cash compensation will be given due to the airport closure being classified as an “extraordinary circumstance”.
