Keir Starmer is facing pressure from Labour MPs to resign following the resignation of Morgan McSweeney. The Prime Minister’s chief of staff quit on Sunday, following damning criticism over his role in the appointment of Peter Mandelson as Britain’s US ambassador. It is believed McSweeney gave Sir Keir “wrong” advice about Lord Mandelson’s appointment because of his connections with Jeffrey Epstein. Despite McSweeney’s departure, some Labour backbenchers believe the Prime Minister should also step down, as he was the one to make the final decision.
