Wow! I remember going here as a teenager – Italian restaurant chain Spaghetti House has collapsed into administration after seven decades of service. The family-run restaurant has shut all of its locations with immediate effect.
Spaghetti House, the self-proclaimed oldest family-run Italian in London, has closed for good. In a statement released on its website, the 70-year-old Italian chain has shut all restaurants.
A statement made on the Spaghetti House website read: “We’re sorry all our restaurants are now closed. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our loyal customers, partners, and team members, past and present, for your support over the years.
“From our family to yours, Grazie.”
Founded in 1955 on Goodge Street, London, the chain has five restaurants in iconic locations. These include Marble Arch, Carnaby Street, Oxford Street, Kensington High Street and Cranbourn Street, with its original Goodge Street site shutting late last year. Priding itself on authentic Italian recipes, founders Simone Lavarini and Lorenzo Fraquelli hoped to bring ‘la dolce vita’ to the capital.
