Use your brain or lose it seems to be the message. Latest reports are that people engaged in mentally stimulating jobs are less likely to experience memory issues and cognitive decline in later life, according to a Norwegian study. The research observed over 7,000 individuals, finding that those in less mentally demanding occupations face a 66% higher risk of mild cognitive impairment, and a 31% greater chance of dementia. Dr Trine Edwin at Oslo University Hospital underscored the importance of regular brain engagement at work.
