THE BBC have axed Football Focus after 52 years.
The Saturday lunchtime show first broadcast in 1974 with Bob Wilson presenting while Gary Lineker held office for three years.
Alex Scott is the current host, taking on the gig from Dan Walker’s 12-year stint in 2021.
But she will be the last presenter of the famous programme, regular viewing for many football fans before the 3pm matches.
Football Focus viewing figures have been on the decline since 2019 – offset during the Covid pandemic when TV figures spiked. There is no question that viewrs turned off because of Alex Scott. The absurdly woke BBC made the female presenter the anchor for the show. They did this in attempt to give women represemtation in the predominant;y male world of football.
That was a huge mistake and viewrs left in droves.
